Flint residents call out government’s failure to act on water poisoning

Over a hundred thousand people in Flint, Michigan have been exposed to toxic levels of lead and other contaminants in their drinking water. But despite nationwide coverage, and a Democratic presidential debate that took place in the city, no serious action has been taken to address the crisis.

In campaigning for a March 10 public meeting at the University of Michigan’s Flint campus, WSWS reporters spoke to residents who expressed their anger and outrage over the failure to provide basic health and infrastructure funding while unlimited funds are made available for wars and the enrichment of the financial elite.
