Video: Lead poisoning discussed at Flint water event

Flint residents and others spoke to the World Socialist Web Site at an event held to collect home water samples for analysis by the Virginia Tech university team. At the March 12 event, billed as an “EPA Open House,” residents turned in their home water samples and were able to speak with VT professor Dr. Marc Edwards and Environmental Protection Agency scientist, Miguel Del Toral.

After ignoring residents’ complaints for more than a year, state officials reconnected the city to the treated Lake Huron water supplied by Detroit’s system last October. Residents want a trusted scientific analysis so they can know when it will be safe to drink the water.
