SEP (Australia) national secretary James Cogan to speak tomorrow on Unity4J online vigil

Socialist Equality Party (Australia) national secretary James Cogan has been invited to speak tomorrow on the next Unity4J vigil in support of WikiLeaks publisher Julian Assange. The invitation was extended by the host of the online forum, Joe Lauria, the editor-in-chief of the US-based publication Consortium News.

Unity4J takes place each week and features guests who defend Assange and WikiLeaks being interviewed by Lauria.

Cogan will be interviewed on the demonstrations called by the Socialist Equality Party on March 3 in Sydney and March 10 in Melbourne to demand that the Australian government take all necessary action to secure Assange’s freedom, and the broader campaign being waged by the WSWS against Internet censorship.

The Unity4J online vigil is broadcast live at unity4j.com, on YouTube, on Consortium News and on Periscope.

The forum will begin at 4 p.m. on Friday, February 15, US Eastern Time, which is 8 a.m. on Saturday, February 16 in Sydney, Australia.

Cogan expects to appear at, or shortly after 5.30 p.m. US Eastern Time/9.30 a.m. Sydney time. Click here to get a time zone conversion for your country.
