OUR DEMANDS
The Socialist Equality Party proposes the preparation and organization of a nationwide general strike with the following demands:
REMOVE ICE FROM ALL CITIES!
The immediate removal of ICE agents from Minneapolis and all other cities.
DISBAND ICE AND PROSECUTE ICE MURDERERS!
The disbanding of ICE and the criminal prosecution of all its officials and agents responsible for murder and violence.
END IMMIGRANT PERSECUTION!
The immediate end to the persecution of immigrants and the release of all detainees.
PROSECUTE THE TRUMP ADMIN!
The resignation and prosecution of Trump administration officials responsible for these crimes, including the systematic violation of constitutionally protected rights.
Call meetings in factories, workplaces, neighborhoods and schools to discuss these and other practical proposals for effective action.
BUILD RANK-AND-FILE COMMITTEES TO FIGHT FOR WORKERS' POWER
To build a nationwide general strike against the Trump administration, the SEP calls for the formation of rank-and-file committees in every workplace, school and neighborhood. These must be democratically controlled, independent of the trade union apparatus, and tasked with preparing mass action, electing trusted delegates and linking up across industries and states in a unified fight against dictatorship and repression.
The International Workers Alliance of Rank-and-File Committees (IWA-RFC) has been initiated to coordinate the development and integration of such committees in the US and throughout the world.
These committees must be rooted in the working class and draw on the initiative already emerging. In neighborhoods across Minneapolis and beyond, grassroots organizations have mobilized to oppose ICE raids and protect immigrants. These must be expanded and connected to workers in every sector—including educators, auto and logistics workers, Amazon and UPS drivers, rail and transit workers, service and tech workers—transforming workplaces into centers of resistance and political organization.

World party, not nationalist
We defend and advance Leon Trotsky's theory of permanent revolution, which argues that the struggle for socialism must be led by the working class and carried out on a world scale.
Revolutionary, not reformist
The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and other pseudo-left tendencies work work within the orbit of the Democratic Party to try to reform capitalism. We fight for the political independence of the working class to prepare for socialist revolution.
Class unity, not identity politics

WHERE WE STAND
For social equality
True equality is only possible when the wealth workers create belongs to them—not to billionaires and corporations. We fight to end poverty, exploitation, and class division.
For workers control of production
The economy must be democratically controlled by working people, not Wall Street and the corporations. Production for human need, not private profit.
International unity of workers
The attack on immigrants is an attack on the entire working class. Unite workers across all borders, races, and nationalities against the capitalist state.
For science and public health!
We demand a global scientific effort to stop transmission and eradicate COVID-19. The billions squandered on war must instead go to fully funding public health and scientific research.
Stop the Gaza genocide!
End US support for Israel's war on Gaza. The working class must unite against imperialist violence and in defense of the Palestinian people.
No to imperialist war!
The drive to World War III threatens humanity. Workers of all countries must unite against the warmongers in Washington, NATO, and every capitalist government.
