The World Socialist Web Site has received the following e-mail from Julie Hiatt Steele. Steele has been the target of a legal vendetta by Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr because she submitted an affidavit in the Paula Jones sexual harassment suit, and then provided grand jury evidence, which undermined charges against Clinton made by her one-time friend, Kathleen Willey. After months of threats and intimidation by Starr's office, Steele was indicted by his grand jury January 7 on three counts of obstruction of justice and one count of making false statements. If convicted, Steele, 53, could face up to 35 years in prison.
Thank you for your support and for recognizing that it is not over. The senate trial hearings may have concluded, but Starr has not finished with me. My trial is scheduled for March 30. It clearly isn't over for my eight-year-old son or for me! Our next hearing is Feb. 26. Motions for our last hearing are posted on my web site and the latest round of motions are forthcoming.
They can be found @ juliehiattsteele.com
Again, thank you.
