David North, the chairman of the World Socialist Web Site International Editorial Board and the national secretary of the Socialist Equality Party in the United States, will speak in Montreal this Saturday afternoon at a meeting called by the SEP of Canada
North’s speech will focus on three years since the launching of the United States’ illegal war against Iraq. He will assess the war’s world historical significance and its impact on the Iraqi people, class relations in the United States, and international politics.
Keith Jones, the national secretary of the SEP of Canada, will also address the meeting. His speech will analyze, from a socialist and internationalist viewpoint, the development of the class struggle in Canada, focusing on the drive of big business to shift politics far to the right by bringing to power the Conservatives under neo-conservative ideologue Stephen Harper.
Following the speeches there will be an opportunity for questions and discussion.
We extend a warm invitation to all WSWS readers in Canada and especially the Montreal region to attend the Saturday, March 11 meeting.
