Readers protest exclusion of WSWS reporter from DC conference

The following is a selection of letters sent to the World Socialist Web Site in response to “Washington think tanks bars WSWS reporter: An incident that says much about the US capital” .

This is an unbelievable series of events, though not surprising. I did watch a re-play of the event, and subsequent guests on C-SPAN’s “Washington Journal.” No mention of your exclusion. Their topic though, and defense of their actions is quite sickening. I feel for you, but keep fighting the good fight for the real truth. We will be keeping watch too.

Bravo on the good coverage from Washington, DC. The Washington coverage by Barry Grey is the most exciting thing to come from WSWS in a long time. Keep up the good work and don’t be discouraged by the little petty games like the switcheroo to deny your entry to the “think tank” forum. Many people are depending on you, and looking in expectation of your bold, courageous and brainy news coverage.

After wondering at the C-SPAN program aired last night while I turned the channel on to wait for “Washington Journal,” I was most interested in your article explaining the relationships displayed. It reminded me of an old nursery rhyme, which posed the question: “Whose little dog are you?” Good going. Thank you.

Again we see the connection between AIPAC or AIPAC-mindset congressmen (government officials) and the military conspiring to war. The revealing of Schwartz as an AIPAC operative shows the control Zionist interests play in moving the US war machine against the Muslim world, ostensibly to ‘protect’ Israel. And again we see the effort to control the media, to control the information available to the public. Thanks for the article.

This, perhaps strangely, seems like the final straw. The government is not working; it has been taken over by reactionary forces. There is no difference between the two parties. The only means by which this can be fixed is for a complete and total clean-out of the entire apparatus. We are on our own. No one is working on our behalf.

Sorry about your hassle, but this is all about greed and the subsequent inequality. To maintain this inequality, ignorance must be maintained. So far so good, eh? Hang in there.

Quite a story! But you can look on the bright side and reflect that the sort of treatment you received means that they are taking you seriously. Their show of respect for the damage they supposed you could cause them by asking a question is a tribute to WSWS’s fine performance over the years, and to its well-deserved reputation for digging out and explaining uncomfortable political truths. Well done!
