New in Arabic: “Convulsions in Egypt signal new era of world revolution”

The WSWS is pleased to announce that the perspective “Convulsions in Egypt signal new era of world revolution” is now available in Arabic. It can be accessed here and a pdf version here.

This is the first in a series of Arabic translations of recent articles aimed at making the analysis of the WSWS available to broad sections of the population in Egypt and throughout the Middle East.

The situation in Egypt is at another turning point. The Egyptian army, with the support of Washington, the liberal opposition and the pseudo-left, launched a pre-emptive coup in response to the enormous popular protests that erupted over the past two weeks. While its initial target is Morsi, the military regime aims to crush the working class, as it imposes right-wing economic policies and defends US militarism in the Middle East.

Now more than ever Egyptian workers need the WSWS. As the WSWS noted in this perspective, “The objective conditions for socialist revolution are emerging rapidly. But the problem of political leadership equal to the demands of a new revolutionary epoch remains to be solved.”

There are many WSWS readers in Egypt and throughout the region, but our ability to reach an ever broader audience depends on these translations.

To help finance these translations, we urge WSWS readers to make a donation today. A contribution of $200 will fund a translation of an entire article into Arabic. A donation of $25 will allow us to run advertisements on social media that will ensure that our articles reach hundreds of more workers and youth.
