The WSWS needs your support to expand on-the-spot coverage and online videos

A video appeal from WSWS writer Andre Damon

The WSWS has significantly expanded its on-the-spot reporting and use of streaming media over the past year.

In August and October, we traveled to Ferguson, Missouri to speak with workers and young people about the military/police crackdown against peaceful protests over the killing of Michael Brown.

In December we sent a US reporting team to Germany to help document the campaign of the IYSSE at Humboldt University against the drive to whitewash the crimes of fascism in the 20th century.

Last month, WSWS writers in Europe traveled to Greece to speak to workers and students about the elections there, providing a unique political perspective in opposition to the pro-capitalist policies of the entire political establishment.

We have also produced a number of major online events. In the spring, the WSWS organized the International May Day Online Rally, with speakers all over the world addressing thousands of participants in over 90 countries.

Then in December, we conducted a live panel interview with WSWS International Editorial Board Chairman David North on his recently-published book, The Russian Revolution and the Unfinished 20th Century.

All of the resources required to fund these and many other initiatives came from our readers.

As the crisis of world capitalism intensifies, however, our tasks will only grow. The WSWS must respond to the unfolding events by significantly expanding its content. We must have more on-the-spot coverage, more interviews with our writers and contributors and a greater use of live streaming media.

We are appealing today for your assistance. Your financial support is vital to the arming of the working class with the political, cultural, and historical knowledge it needs to face the coming struggles.
