An estimated 4,000 people flocked to the Motor City Medical Mission event August 9-11 for free dental, optical and medical care. Hundreds of area residents, young and old, employed and unemployed, attended the free clinic, highlighting the medical crisis in the state, where an estimated 600,000 residents are uninsured and far more cannot afford high co-pays and deductibles.
