Video: Director of Detroit free medical clinic denounces utility shutoffs

This recording was prepared as testimony to the initial fact-finding hearing held by the Citizens Inquiry into the Dexter Avenue Fire on Saturday, March 20 at Wayne State University. Sister Mary Ellen Howard, Executive Director of the Detroit's Cabrini Clinic, was unable to attend, but granted the WSWS this interview for presentation as evidence.

Lawrence Porter, chairman of the Citizens Inquiry, speaks with Sister Howard at the clinic on Detroit’s southwest side. The focus of the interview is the devastating effect of utility shutoffs on patients at the clinic.
