Video: Thousands line up for jobs in Hamtramck, Michigan

On Wednesday, May 11, thousands of job-seekers attended an event called the "Back to Work Job Fair" in Hamtramck, Michigan. The event was sponsored by the Arab American and Chaldean Council (ACC) and Hamtramck Jobs Education and Training (JET) Program, in partnership with governmental agencies.

There were about 40 employers participating. Low wage employers including Walmart and McDonald’s had tables, along with several local banks and hospitals. Military and police recruiters were also on hand. After waiting in long lines, the attendees were given information for what would be at most a couple hundred job openings.
