Exposing the Bankers’ Conspiracy: A Report on the Workers Inquiry into the Bankruptcy of Detroit

The Socialist Equality Party (SEP) and International Youth and Students for Social Equality (IYSSE) will hold a public meeting at the University of Michigan on Wednesday, February 5 to discuss the campaign to build the Workers Inquiry into the Bankruptcy of Detroit.

Detroit Emergency Manager Kevyn Orr is working with US Bankruptcy Court Judge Steven Rhodes and the entire political establishment to dismantle pensions, sell off the art at the Detroit Institute of Arts and restructure the city in the interests of the rich.

In response to this conspiracy, the SEP and IYSSE are organizing a Workers Inquiry into the Bankruptcy of Detroit and the Attack on the DIA and Pensions to be held on February 15 at Wayne State University. The Inquiry has been called to provide workers, pensioners, students and youth with the information they need to counter the lies of the political establishment and to fight back.

At this meeting Lawrence Porter, the assistant national secretary of the Socialist Equality Party, will speak on the conceptions of the Inquiry and the progress of the campaign. We urge all students and workers to attend.
