Chicago teachers march to oppose budget and job cuts

Thousands of teachers marched in downtown Chicago Thursday to oppose threats by school authorities to cut 1,000 jobs and slash $100 million from the school budget. The school board handpicked by Mayor Rahm Emanuel issued the threat after the Chicago Teachers Union bargaining committee, fearing a rebellion of teachers, rejected a concessions contract pushed by the CTU leadership.
