Michigan autoworker Randall James testifies for the Global Workers Inquest into the COVID-19 Pandemic

In this extensive video testimony, Randall explains the unsafe conditions in Michigan’s auto parts plants, where his brother Adam caught COVID-19. Tragically, Adam not only died from the disease, but he also brought the virus home to his 80-year-old grandmother Annie, for whom he was the sole caretaker. Annie now has Long COVID and will be on oxygen for the rest of her life.

Randall himself also survived a horrifying bout with COVID-19, which he caught at the Washtenaw County jail. During his two-week quarantine at the jail, he was held in inhuman conditions and medically mistreated.

Now, Randall and his fiancée are being threatened with charges of truancy if they continue to keep their five-year-old daughter out of her school to prevent her from catching COVID. Cruelly, these charges could result in fines, jail time, and even the removal of their daughter by Child Protective Services.
