Workers in Australia have sent video messages of support for the campaign of Will Lehman, who is running as a socialist candidate for the President of the United Auto Workers (UAW) in the United States. Lehman’s platform is for the placing the power into the hands of the rank-and-file and abolishing the union bureaucracy.
In this video workers from four states across the country speak about the necessity to take the power out of the hands of the union apparatus. The campaign has resonated with workers in Australia who face similar brutal conditions in their workplaces. It has demonstrated the way forward and the necessity for workers to form rank-and-file committees to advance their own demands against the dictates of management and the union apparatus.
The speakers encourage all UAW members to vote for Will Lehman in the UAW presidential election and to join his campaign.
